Weight Loss Injections

The national rollout set by NHS England means access for this is only for people with a BMI of at least 40 and have 4 of the 5 health conditions listed below.

The following weight-related health conditions will be used to define those who are eligible first.

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus 

• High blood pressure 

• Heart disease

• Obstructive sleep apnoea 

• Abnormal blood fats (Dyslipidaemia)

Currently, we cannot prescribe this injection.  Cheshire and Merseyside ICB is in the process of commissioning a service to provide this.  We await further information.
