Greenbank Surgery is backing the Cheshire and Merseyside Back Pain Campaign.
Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle is also supporting the campaign by adding her voice to an animation put together as part of this new health campaign which is aimed at the better management of back pain. The animation is now available to view at https://youtu.be/nrtCtEITzeE .
Patients are being asked to follow 7 Golden Rules if they experience back pain as part of the campaign led by The Neuro Network – a collection of NHS organisations, voluntary sector, patient and carer representatives who have come together to make changes that benefit neurological and spinal patients.
Low back pain is the leading cause of work absence throughout much of the world, placing an economic burden on the nations, governments, families and the individuals themselves.

Struggling to get an appointment?
You are not alone - unfortunately this is a national problem and the NHS is struggling to cope with the demands placed upon it - click here for more information and importantly how you can support General Practice . We continue to look for ways to improve access by offering the morning drop in clinic, telephone advice and opening late until 8pm every Wednesday -this is in addition to running routine clinics between 8am and 6:30pm. We ask that patients also take some responsibility and support your GP Surgery. Ways that you can do this include: Cancelling unwanted appointments ---Seeking appointments/advice when appropriate - pharmacies offer advice and over the counter preparations --- Using our self help guide ---Only requesting Home Visits for truly housebound patients.
Chronic Disease Reviews
Patients are now asked, as far as is reasonably possible, to attend for their annual chronic disease nurse reviews eg diabetes, blood pressure, heart & lung conditions, mental health and rheumatoid physical health check ups in their birthday month. Please take responsibility for arranging your own chronic disease review and do not rely on the surgery sending out invitation letters.
To spread these reviews evenly across they year (and to make it easy for you to remember) please ring to arrange to be seen for this IN THE MONTH OF YOUR BIRTHDAY ..... even if you have had your check up in the last 12months.
